A photo documentary from
Misan Harriman & Domizia Salusest
With Adan’s mother, Wizra.
MOM: We have one appointment today then the hospital, they’re going to do some hear tests.
ADAN: After school in the afternoon, I went to my appointment, and put in my hearing aid.
I feel different than anyone. And one little boy in my school said, I’m a monster. And I said: I’m not a monster, I’m deaf, this is my hearing aid.
I wish I could hear my sister properly without the hearing aid.
MOM: And the whispers?
ADAN: Yep! And I wish I could hear every sound.
MOM: If you don’t have to wear the hearing aid, how is it going to change your life? How is it going to make it different?
ADAN: I finally hear better properly. And now I can hear my mommy, I can hear the ball sounds, I’m going to hear everything! Yep.
