Detroit, 20Trial shift,You've got this.

Listen to their story

This evening, I’ve got a trial shift at a bar. I’m quite nervous because I really want the job. I just want to be working again.

I struggle a lot with social anxiety. It comes from when I was younger – I overthink everything I do now. I think I have to get it perfect straight away. I just hope for a good atmosphere in the pub and that I feel welcomed.

Mornings mean a lot more than I thought they did a few years ago. I have tea in bed every morning with my partner, Dean.

I’m glad every time I wake up. I’m still here, and I get to live my fantastic life.
