Today is a really important day for me and my bowls club, because if we win today, we are promoted after quite a few seasons of being in a lower division.

I’m the men’s captain and I worry that I’ll make a pig’s ear of my bit of it.

Mindfulness helps me prepare. I go and sit in my swing out in the garden and I will close my eyes and I will think about what I can hear. Breakfast is a bit like mindfulness at times, because you’re sitting down and you’re relaxed, and it gives you a chance to clear your head.

I’ve never been one that needs to 100% win everything. But there are certain days when it comes to you – and today is the day.
