Today’s my daughter’s 21st birthday. She and I are going to do a walking escape room, which is just the two of us. I’m particularly excited to have Ella to myself.

It feels unbelievable. I don’t feel old enough to have a 21-year-old daughter. You suddenly go: Oh my god, I have a 21-year-old. How did that happen? It’s exciting and slightly scary all at the same time.

My husband is cooking Beef Wellington for seven of us tonight, there’ll be lots of delicious wine and I’ve made a marble cake at her request.

I was a little nervous last night when I was making the cake, but I’m delighted with how it turned out, so actually I’m really excited I get to enjoy today, nerve-free.
