Pauline, 82Lead Volunteer,You've got this.

Listen to their story

Today, I have organized tea on the pier in Eastbourne for about 20 elderly people, because I help run a club for memory loss and dementia. Today is the first time we’ve ever done it.

I am older than some of our participants and I know my time is limited, but I will keep going as long as I can.

My husband David and I have always eaten breakfast together. We sit and read the papers for about an hour. And it’s a lovely, relaxing time, actually.

My grandchildren always say to me: You know you’re mad, Grandma, don’t you? I’m glad about that. I don’t want to be sad or bad. I want to be mad, and that’s what I’m going to be.
